Long Island’s Great South Bay Music Festival returns July 18-21 to Patchogue, NY’s Shorefront Park. So far just the lineups for the first two days have been announced, and as usual, there’s a day that honors Long Island’s emo/post-hardcore history.
Day one includes two long-running LI emo/post-hc bands, Taking Back Sunday and Glassjaw. They’ll be joined by Philly punks The Menzingers and NJ’s Frank Iero and the Future Violents, making for a solid lineup all around. Tickets for that day go on sale Friday (2/22) at 9 AM and there’s a Taking Back Sunday presale underway now (password = twenty).
Day two has Slightly Stoopid, Sublime With Rome, Common Kings, and SOJA (tickets). Stay tuned for the day three and four lineups.
For Taking Back Sunday, this falls in the middle of their 20th anniversary tour which will see them playing their first three albums in full (no word on whether or not they’re doing full album at GSBMF though). Glassjaw, who released their first album in 15 years in 2017, are also playing some other festivals like the UK’s Slam Dunk Festival and Las Vegas’ Psycho Las Vegas.
