Rolie Polie Guacamole lays claim to being the one of the hardest working bands in kids’ music, and that just might be true. They’ve released four albums and played well over 1,500 shows nationwide since hitting the boards with their first performance in 2007, receiving top picks from Boston.com, Time Out NY Kids, and Time Out Chicago. (It must be in the genes, for founding band member Frank Gallo’s dad is none other than veteran kids’ musician Lou Gallo.)

The son of actress Kate Vereau and musician Lou Gallo, Frank Gallo received his SAG card at the ripe age of two, appearing in commercials and in Nickelodeon’s Pete and Pete, Prince of Tides, Scenes from a Mall, Mighty Aphrodite, House of Buggin, and Six Degrees of Separation. By the time he reached middle school, Frank had phased out acting and started his own band. He recorded his first full-length album when he was 15 and has continued to produce records ever since.

Andrew Tuzhilin’s parents moved to the U.S. from the former Soviet Union. Andrew grew up in the New Jersey and New York suburbs, attending Waldorf School in Chestnut Ridge, New York and Fair Lawn High School in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, where he met Frank Gallo. In 2006, after study at Boston’s famed Berklee College of Music, Andrew joined Frank in Brooklyn, where they wrote the first batch of songs for what would become Rolie Polie Guacamole. Fellow Berklee graduates Christian McCarthy and Peter Barr later became band members.
